BRINGING BLUEGRASS CULTURE TO BRAZIL

Erio Meili

Founded in 1996 by Erio Meili, the association was called São Paulo Bluegrass Music Association, with the mission of promoting acoustic music and facilitating the integration of bluegrass music with national musical segments, like the Brazilian choro, valuing the musician artist and honoring traditions. Since 1996 we have already brought artists such as Nashville Bluegrass Band, we have participated in international bluegrass conventions in addition to presentations, demonstration of instruments in Expomusic stands, workshops, among other activities that allow for a gratifying cultural recognition.

With the passing of Erio Meili in 2011, the friend and musician César Benzoni continued with the activities of SPBMA, until in 2021, considering a greater expansion of the genre across the country, we changed to Brazilian Bluegrass Music Association.

We want to integrate Brazilian bluegrass and our acoustic music with the world, placing links from international sites, sending our materials out, bringing interviews with national and international artists, among other things.

We are available for the whole country, promoting events, bands and shows throughout Brazil.
